Ministry Imposes Restrictions Following Incident at Noravank
A warning sign has been installed at the base of the stairs leading to the Holy Mother of God Church at the Noravank Monastery Complex in the Vayots Dzor region. This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia.
"In light of the recent incident at Noravank, and at the instruction of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia, in coordination with the Diocese of Vayots Dzor of the Armenian Apostolic Church, warning signs have been placed near the stairs leading to the second floor of the Holy Mother of God Church (Burtelashen) using the resources of the 'Cultural Heritage Service,'" the statement reads.
The ministry urges and requires individuals not to climb on the monument walls and to follow the directions of the signs, thus avoiding endangering their own lives and health.
It is worth noting that on June 27, a citizen of Russian descent of Armenian ethnicity fell from the church stairs and sustained serious injuries to his legs.
