Emergency Incident in Shirak: Fire Breaks Out in Train Loaded with Diesel Fuel
An emergency incident has occurred in the Shirak region. Today, on June 30, at approximately 09:55, the Ministry of Emergency Situations was alerted that a train loaded with diesel fuel (2 carriages) belonging to the South Caucasus Railways was on fire near the Anushavan village station on the Gyumri-Artick route.
According to shamshyan.com, teams from fire and rescue units No. 49 and No. 51 of the Shirak regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived on the scene promptly. Before the firefighters' arrival, the train driver, risking his life, managed to prevent the fire from spreading, and the firefighters extinguished the flames and conducted cooling operations once they arrived.
In the interest of public safety, the patrol service of the Shirak regional police deployed enhanced services to secure and cordon off the area. Fortunately, according to preliminary reports, there were no injuries. The cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical wiring.
