Scholz's Government Wants to Impose Peace on Ukraine According to Russia's Terms, Opposition MP Claims

The German opposition MP Roderich Kiesewetter from the CDU has accused Chancellor Olaf Scholz's government of wanting to impose peace on Ukraine based on the terms of the occupying country, as reported by Passauer Neue Presse and Ukrainian media.

Kiesewetter stated that Germany could provide Ukraine with "a large number of Marder infantry fighting vehicles, as well as artillery and Leopard tanks." He remarked, "Germany has complicated many things for Ukraine. It is clear that they want to impose peace on Ukraine by supplying only a small quantity of critical weapons... If NATO does not provide massive support to Ukraine now, we will accept Russia's power politics."

In May, Kiesewetter visited Ukraine and later stated that he had been a member of missions in the Balkans and Afghanistan, but had "never witnessed such mass destruction of civilians by military forces." He has always regarded Russia as a cultural nation, and is now "deeply shocked by the horrific consequences of Russian weaponry" and "simply horrified by the war crimes."
