«Our current state is that we are walking headless into the future». Vostan Sargsyan
Journalist Vostan Sargsyan published a photo on his Facebook page depicting a statue of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the entrance of Ijevan, with its head cut off. He wrote alongside the photo:
“This picture reflects our current state; we are walking headless into the future. In fact, we are at war, and the army, which has suffered significant losses in military equipment and personnel, is not being rearmed or replenished to compensate for these losses. The army is headless, meaning that for more than three months, the Chief of the General Staff has been without a head, and the position of head of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff is also vacant. The ruling 'Civil Contract' party is loudly appointing its own judges and other officials, having publicly released the names of the top candidates on its list for the local self-government elections on September 25, and continues to squander state budget funds by distributing bonuses. Nikol Pashinyan held a half-press conference in his usual style, addressing the handover of Berdzor, Aghavno, and other settlements, the disruption of the peace agenda, and the danger of a new war. Meanwhile, the people, like a sacrificial lamb during Vardavar, obediently await their sad fate.”
