VIDEO: Reporters Overhear Macron and Biden's Private Conversation
Reporters were present during a private conversation between U.S. President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron. The leaders specifically discussed increasing oil production volumes. This was reported by news.rambler.ru.
During the G7 summit, Macron reminded his American counterpart of his request to boost oil production. According to the French president, Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not have sufficient oil capacity to replace Russian oil.
He also added that he had spoken with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed. “He told me two things: that he is at the maximum, the upper threshold of production capacity. Then he said that the Saudis can increase production by 150,000 barrels a day. Maybe a little more, but they won’t have additional capacity for at least six months,” Macron told Biden.
From the video, it appears that the American leader listened to his French counterpart with some uncertainty.
At the end of the conversation, Macron asked, “What to do with Russian oil and gas?” Biden did not respond.
