Man Stabbed 13 Times During Altercation, Police Report

On June 24, at 23:55, the Ararat Medical Center reported to the Ararat Police Department that a man had been admitted to the hospital with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest. This information was provided by the Armenian police.

The officers of the Ararat Police Department went to the hospital. First, they verified the identity of the injured man and his place of residence. It was soon discovered that the man had been involved in an altercation at his home with a 45-year-old resident of the same village.

During the argument, the 45-year-old man stabbed the homeowner 13 times with a knife.

As a result of immediate actions, two hours after the incident, the criminal investigation team of the Ararat department located the suspect in Avshar village and apprehended him on suspicion of attempted murder.

Further investigation revealed that after the incident in Ararat village, the apprehended individual approached one of the gas station employees in Avshar with a knife, threatening to harm him and demanding the car keys. After being refused, the 45-year-old man broke the glass of the gas station's cash register window with a trash can.

A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of attempted murder and robbery. The 45-year-old man has been detained. Circumstances are being clarified in the course of the investigation, according to the statement.
