We want the full recording, a working group has been formed. Khachatryan on the scandalous recording

In connection with the recording published by former President of the Supreme Judicial Council Ruben Vardazaryan, a working group has been formed from among the members of the Council of the Supreme Judicial Council. This information was shared by BDC member David Khachatryan during a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly.

"A working group has been formed from among the members of the Council, five individuals have joined this group. We have requested Vardazaryan to provide us with the complete, unedited recording so that a comprehensive and adequate assessment can be made regarding this interview and the expressions of the participants in the conversation, meaning that we can come to a corresponding conclusion," said Khachatryan.

According to him, if the Supreme Judicial Council requests any material, then the party in the case cannot impose any conditions. Khachatryan emphasized that all hypotheses regarding the recording and the topics being discussed should be examined objectively and comprehensively by the investigating authorities.

As for the question of how he would evaluate the statements of acting President of the Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Jhangiryan—that he would close such and such criminal cases—Khachatryan replied that he considers this as one of the existing hypotheses. "Jhangiryan said what he said, and I evaluate this as another hypothesis of the situation, as to why it was said like that. As for which hypothesis corresponds to reality, the law enforcement agencies will determine," he stated.

According to his information, the preliminary investigation body has not approached the Supreme Judicial Council to request Jhangiryan’s explanation. Regarding Jhangiryan’s resignation, Khachatryan clarified that he has no information that Gagik Jhangiryan is preparing to resign.

It should be reminded that on June 20, at a press conference, a recording of a conversation with acting President of the Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Jhangiryan was published, during which a number of interesting episodes related to exerting pressure on the judicial system were revealed. In a secret recording made in February of last year, Gagik Jhangiryan urged then-Supreme Judicial Council president Ruben Vardazaryan to resign and discussed interfering in the proceedings of criminal cases.
