Armenian Armed Forces Aviation Turns 30
On June 27, Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan attended a solemn event marking the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces Aviation.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the leadership of the defense establishment and servicemen from aviation units.
Congratulating the aviation personnel on their professional holiday, the minister emphasized the importance of military aviation in enhancing the army's combat readiness, particularly in the protection of air borders.
Reflecting on the 30-year journey of military aviation, Suren Papikyan highly appreciated the contributions of the aviation personnel during both the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and the 44-day war in the defense of the country.
At the conclusion of the solemn event, several servicemen from the aviation forces, who distinguished themselves during their service, were awarded departmental medals, certificates of appreciation, and valuable gifts by the Minister of Defense and the acting Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
