Video: My son didn’t call to invite the youths; what one of the victims' fathers said

In Aparan today, relatives of the young men who were wounded by gunfire and died from gunshot injuries held a protest regarding the recent incidents. They insist that Deputy Governor Edgar Paravanyan's cousin, Roman Paravanyan, instigated the incident. Furthermore, the participants in the protest claim that the Paravanyans should leave Aparan and demand an objective investigation.

Journalists also attempted to obtain a comment from the Paravanyans. In response to the question of whether the brother of the deceased claims that Roman Paravanyan approached the youths as a mediator, calling them to Nigavan, Edgar Paravanyan's relative, Jora Paravanyan, who is Roman's father, stated: “Roman did not call to invite them; on the contrary, he said, do not come to the gas station. Edgar did not make friends with the three guys who came from Yerevan; he may know them, I don’t know. I don't know if Roman was taken that day to the police station; I was not home on the day of the incident. A gang has formed, everything has been well organized, everything has been done very well. The law enforcement agencies will clarify,” he said.

To the question of what they plan to do in light of the fact that the relatives of the deceased are demanding their departure from the village, Jora Paravanyan noted: “Who can tell us to leave from here? This is my grandfather's liberated land; I will not go anywhere if you don't know—go to Sardarapat, my grandfather's name is written there: Paravani Khacho, this is my home. The dangerous ones are them.”
