Ruben Vardazaryan Summoned to Provide Explanations: 'Zhoghovurd'

According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', the Investigative Committee of Armenia has sent a notification to Ruben Vardazaryan, the head of the Supreme Judicial Council (whose powers are temporarily suspended), requesting his presence to provide an explanation regarding the controversial recording he published.

'We have learned that Ruben Vardazaryan will present himself to the Investigative Committee of Armenia this morning,' reports 'Zhoghovurd'.

It should be noted that during a press conference held on June 20, a recording of a conversation between Gagik Jhangiryan, who is performing the duties of the Supreme Judicial Council's president, and Vardazaryan was released, revealing several interesting incidents related to exerting pressure on the judicial system.

In a secret recording made last February, Gagik Jhangiryan urged Ruben Vardazaryan, who was then still holding the position of head of the Supreme Judicial Council, to resign and spoke about interfering in the proceedings of criminal cases.
