Car Accident on Sevan-Martuni-Getap Highway Leaves Two Dead

On June 22, at 02:11, the Gegharkunik Regional Crisis Management Center received a call reporting that an accident had occurred on the Sevan-Gavar highway. A vehicle had gone off the roadway and ended up in a swamp.

A team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a "Mercedes C180" had left the roadway on the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway, broken through a metal guardrail, and overturned in the swampy water.

Rescuers retrieved the bodies of the driver and the passenger from the swamp, and subsequently, special equipment was used to recover the vehicle from the water.
