Ankara Confirms Meeting on Grain Issue with Moscow, UN, and Kyiv

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has announced that an agreement has been reached in Moscow regarding the necessity of quadrilateral negotiations to address the "grain issue."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's diplomatic efforts to resolve the "food crisis" and the diplomatic course led by Defense Minister Hulusi Akar have begun to yield positive results. In this context, a military delegation from the National Defense Ministry arrived in Russia yesterday to discuss issues including the resolution of the food crisis, the evacuation of commercial vessels carrying grain waiting in Ukrainian ports, and the safe transport of aircraft belonging to Turkey's armed forces from Boryspil Airport.

During the meeting, where the evacuation of grain-laden vessels from Ukrainian ports was discussed, it was confirmed that an agreement has been reached to conduct negotiations between Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, and the UN to address the issue,” the Turkish military department informed RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Turkey's National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar stated that there has been some progress on grain exports from Black Sea ports; however, there are technical aspects that require discussions with Russia, Ukraine, and the UN.
