When Will the Issues in the Transport System be Resolved? The Mayor Sets a Timeline

According to the budget of Yerevan municipality for 2022, 6 billion 342 million 503 thousand drams will be allocated for the acquisition of 15 trolleybuses and 150 buses.

At the session of the Yerevan Council, Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan announced that this year marks the tenth anniversary of the operation of 249 'Hayger' brand buses, and that spare parts will be imported from China to resolve technical issues.

'By the end of 2023, 70-80 percent of the problems in the transport system will be resolved. We are currently implementing legislative changes to involve private organizations in the transport operation process. The project is ready, and this change will happen within the year. This will allow us to announce a competition for acquiring new, additional vehicles,' said the mayor, adding that in March and April of 2023, there will be 87 units of 12-meter buses in Yerevan.
