Statement from the Lawyer of Mkhitar Galeyan's Father

The entire state system, represented by the investigative body, has engaged in a process to silence the parents of the heroes of the 44-day war. All permissible and impermissible means are being used for this purpose. This was stated by lawyer Vahan Hovhannisyan on his Facebook page, informing that Mkhitar Galeyan's father, one of the heroes of the 44-day war, has been summoned for investigative actions tomorrow.

"On June 16, 2022, the parents filed a report regarding a crime committed by the head of the Investigative Committee, Argishti Kyaramyan. Based on this, a request was submitted to transfer the ongoing criminal case in the Investigative Committee to the Investigative Department of the NSS according to investigative jurisdiction. In response, instead of sending the criminal case to the NSS as per investigative jurisdiction, the case regarding the Galeyan family is extracted from the NSS’s jurisdiction and transferred back to the Investigative Committee. Tomorrow, Galeyan has been summoned for investigative actions. Can you imagine? The case regarding the Galeyan family is being investigated by an agency against whose leader the parents have filed a criminal report," Hovhannisyan stated.
