Arestovich Publishes Photo in Women's Clothes and Responds to Kyiv's LGBTQ Community

KyivPride LGBTQ community has demanded the resignation of Oleksiy Arestovich, advisor to the President of Ukraine. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the publication Strana.ua.

The reason is that the Ukrainian politician's statements have offended the members of KyivPride.

“I have a normal attitude towards LGBTQ people, but I am very harsh against LGBTQ propaganda. Because this is propaganda of deviation, a deviation from norms, which has specific negative consequences for society,” Arestovich said.

The organization reminded that hundreds of people, whom Arestovich has labeled as “deviants,” are defending Ukraine at the front.

Arestovich responded to the demand for his resignation due to his homophobic statements, writes kp.ua. He published an archival photo of himself in a feminine outfit taken in 2012 during the filming of the movie “Don’t Be Afraid, I’m Right Next to You.” Arestovich starred in that film.

“The LGBTQ community is outraged and is talking about my resignation, but look at this photo, and you will understand who should really be upset. I demand tolerance,” Arestovich wrote.
