Shame and Scandal: Russian Journalists React to "Russia 1" Report on Shushi

As previously reported, the "Russia-1" television network's report praising Azerbaijanis and promoting their narrative about the Armenian city of Shushi and the occupied territories of Artsakh has sparked outrage within Armenian society.

Russian military journalist Voenkor Kotenok, who was injured during the filming of the 44-day war in Artsakh, wrote: "Shame and disgrace... I am ashamed of the story about the graves."

Journalist Karnaukhov also commented: "Whoever approved the theme of the report absolutely does not understand that we are obligated to at least maintain neutrality when presenting information. The journalist walks around and talks about a residential complex built on the graves of Armenians. With such 'reports,' Armenia could permanently turn away from Russia," he wrote, questioning whether this was a mishap or a deliberate act.

It should be noted that during the "Vesti Nedeli" program on "Russia 1," Azerbaijan's false propaganda claims about Armenians allegedly destroying the city were echoed. The report has, of course, provoked intense indignation in Armenia. Media outlets and representatives of society have addressed the relevant bodies in Russia and the management of the television network with a request to investigate the situation that harms Armenian-Russian relations.
