Armenia Alliance Issues Statement

Armenia Alliance Statement: "Today, the suspended president of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Armenia, Ruben Vardazaryan, has released a recording, the authenticity of which has not been questioned by any of the parties involved. The recording contains clear elements of criminal offenses, comparisons of illegal interference in the composition of the Constitutional Court, instances of interference in criminal cases, and documented threats in case of non-compliance with specific demands.

These circumstances should be subject to investigation by the law enforcement agencies that, according to the released recording, are able to receive mandatory instructions from a known member of the Supreme Judicial Council, Gagik Jhangiryan.

The recording also contains promises of interference in political activities, and the consequences of this are evidently recorded by the international community as allegedly fair and transparent parliamentary elections.

Hereby, the Armenia Alliance registers:

1. The absence of legitimacy in the last parliamentary elections, which we have repeatedly substantiated, is now confirmed by the clear prejudicial disposition of the judicial system and undeniable instances of interference;

2. Such behavior and actions have disqualified high-ranking official Gagik Jhangiryan from holding office;

3. It is evident that there exists a dictatorship by a single individual in Armenia, which has caused the systemic dependence and politicization of the law enforcement system.

The only way out of the current situation is the immediate removal of the current authorities."
