400 Thousand Dollars for a Project to Change Armenians' Attitudes Towards Azerbaijan: The USA is Holding a Competition

The U.S. Embassy in Armenia has announced an open competition for projects aimed at creating conditions for establishing peace between the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia and Turkey. This was stated on the embassy's website as part of the description of the Track II program.

Organizations can participate in the competition by submitting programs that include elements of research, education, awareness-raising, and confidence-building measures. The goals of the program are to strengthen and expand the network of active leaders/mediators in public diplomacy between Armenia and Azerbaijan and between Armenia and Turkey, broaden the accumulated knowledge, understand the current situation, utilize the potential for communication in post-conflict settings, change public perceptions of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and Armenia and Turkey by exploring the potential of new models of cooperation to contribute to regional peace, as well as create an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual understanding.

With a duration of 12 months and a budget of $400,000, the program targets young people, journalists, academics, and other opinion leaders to help unite the people from both sides of the conflict. The deadline for applications is July 14, and the anticipated start date of the program is October 1, 2022.
