Ukrainian forces shelled the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk early this morning, firing 10 shells of 155 mm caliber, reports the representative office of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime.

“Fire from VFU was recorded on May 8 towards the settlement of Peski-Donetsk (Kuibyshevsky district), with 10 155 mm caliber shells fired,” the statement said.

It is noted that the assault on Donetsk has intensified since yesterday, causing residents of the city to quickly evacuate.

Additionally, as a result of the shelling by Ukrainian forces, the Zasyadko mine in Donetsk has lost power, putting 77 miners underground, reports the Civil Defense Headquarters of the DPR.

“As a result of the VFU shelling in Donetsk, the Zasyadko mine has lost power, and 77 miners are currently underground,” the report states.
