Czech Embassy Shows Discriminatory Attitude Towards Senior Armenian Clergyman
European embassies accredited in Armenia continue to display discriminatory attitudes towards national institutions. As reported to Past.am, this time the diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic in our country has stood out with such behavior.
According to sources from the Armenian community in the Czech Republic, a visit by the head of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Grace Bishop Arshak Khachatryan, was expected in the coming days. However, the senior clergyman's visit to the Czech Republic will not take place, as the Czech embassy has refused to grant a visa to the head of the Mother See's diplomatic office.
Our sources note that the embassy staff violated not only diplomatic but also basic human ethical norms in their communications with the Bishop, which has outraged our compatriots living in the Czech Republic. They insist that this is an unprecedented phenomenon when an embassy of any country demonstrates such marked discriminatory behavior towards a high-ranking clergyman and, in general, towards the Mother See.
