Mika Badalyan to Remain in Detention

Blogger Mikael (Mika) Badalyan will continue to remain in detention, as the court partially granted the prosecutor's request. This information was published on Badalyan's Telegram channel.

“The Court of General Jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia has decided to partially grant the prosecutor's request for extending Mika Badalyan's detention. Badalyan's detention has been extended for one month,” the post stated.

Recall that Badalyan was taken into custody on April 22 from Freedom Square and arrested. According to a statement from the Investigative Committee of Armenia, he provided false information on his Telegram page on April 11, claiming that a terrorist act might occur in the territory of Armenia to create an emergency situation, despite lacking any information regarding a prepared act of terrorism.
