The USA is a superpower with an inflated self-esteem, says Putin
The USA is a great power, but its elite has an inflated self-esteem, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during a plenary session at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, according to Kp.ru.
"The political elite of the USA looks down on everyone, often exhibiting an inflated self-assessment. But this does not exclude the fact that the USA is a superpower. This is a country that has become a global leader over 300 years, which is commendable. However, the internal problems and mistakes of the elite are becoming apparent. The issues are growing in the economy and other sectors," said the country’s leader.
Putin drew attention to the rising prices of energy resources, noting that the market is becoming more expensive, and the USA is leading in this regard. He warned of further escalation of problems if such a policy continues. At the same time, the politician expressed the opinion that Americans would place 'elites in positions where they need to respond to the needs of the population.'
"And ultimately, relationships will be built correctly. Here I am optimistic," added the Russian President.
