EU Ambassador Responds to Criticism Over Photo Without Artsakh on Armenia Map

The bag was a gift to me. It is a heart, not a map.

The statement came in response to criticism surrounding a photograph taken without the inclusion of Artsakh on the Armenian map. “It’s very unfortunate that you are insulting a warm, brave, and caring woman from Meghri, who is doing a lot for the local community and who gifted me that bag. It is a heart, not a map,” the EU Ambassador wrote in response on Twitter.

By referring to a woman from Meghri, the ambassador was indicating the woman he posed with in the photo, in which he showcased a bag that featured a map of Armenia without Artsakh.
