VIDEO: Indians Want to Serve Longer in the Army, Burn Train, Protest

In India, young people are so positively inclined towards military service that news about new draft regulations has sparked a wave of outrage, reports the Svjezsti Telegram channel.

It is noted that the new requirements call for the conscription of men and women aged 17.5 to 21 for a term of 4 years. After this service period ends, only a quarter of them will be able to continue. Indians are demanding the return of the old rules, under which soldiers can serve for up to 17 years.

This level of interest in serving in the Indian Army is attributed to the guarantees of housing and stable salaries provided to soldiers.
