«They brought the traffic light and installed the button, but it doesn’t work at all,» says journalist
Arshaluis Mghdesyan, the editor-coordinator of the Media Center program, wrote on his Facebook page:
“So, it has been several months since a traffic light has been installed at the pedestrian crossing on Republic Square. The traffic light is there, the button is there, but it doesn’t work; they probably forgot to connect the electricity. And this has been going on for several months. For this, a competition was probably announced, someone won, funds were allocated, they brought the traffic light and the button, noted it in the registry, and moved on. Of course, it doesn’t work at all.
There are so many such half-finished projects in Yerevan. Sidewalks have been in a partially demolished state for months, making it impossible for people with mobility issues or strollers to pass through. By the way, not far from this place are those impassable sidewalks.”
