There Will Come a Day When Those Mandates Will Be Needed: Ishkhan Saghatelyan

“These mandates were not brought from their father's house to be taken away; these mandates are given to us by the people,” said Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ishkhan Saghatelyan during a press conference held on June 16 at a park adjacent to France Square, referring to the statement made by a ruling party MP today regarding public demand for stripping them of their mandates and that this issue is under discussion.

“We have clearly stated that we will return to the parliament solely based on our agenda. There will be agendas that align with our declared goals, and we will be in the National Assembly. Otherwise, we will not participate in irrelevant, secondary agendas. Regarding the stripping of mandates, if they can, let them do it,” he added.

Saghatelyan also announced that they are not discussing the issue of resigning their mandates because those mandates will be needed at the right times and in the right moments to achieve success. “Always remember that, ultimately, this change will happen in parliament, and those mandates will be necessary on that day at that hour. This does not mean we rely on mandates; a year ago, when we were engaged in street protests, we did not hold mandates, and our struggle was not conditioned by that. But the day will come when those mandates will be needed to achieve final change,” he stated.
