Zakharova Addresses the Situation Surrounding Parukh
Russia is ready to organize the second meeting of the Armenian-Azerbaijani delimitation and demarcation commission in the near future. Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced this during a briefing.
"The activities of the Armenian-Azerbaijani delimitation and demarcation commission are in no way connected to the situation around one of the villages in the Askeran district of Nagorno-Karabakh, located within the responsibility zone of the Russian peacekeepers," she stated, referring to the situation in the village of Parukh.
"At the same time, we hope that the launch and structured work will contribute to building confidence between Baku and Yerevan, and to preventing incidents both along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers," the Russian Foreign Ministry representative added.
Zakharova noted that proposals regarding the dates of the meeting are now awaited from Armenia and Russia.
