VIDEO: Boat Crashes into Palace Bridge Pillar in St. Petersburg

The Transport Police have initiated an investigation following an incident that occurred on the Neva River, where a pleasure boat's engine failed and collided with a pillar of the Palace Bridge. This was reported by the transport department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The incident took place early this morning around 01:20. It was previously established that the recreational boat's engine had stopped, causing the vessel to lose control and crash into the bridge's support. According to police reports, no one was injured.

A criminal investigation team from the Transport Police has been dispatched to the scene. At the time of the incident, there were 39 people on board the boat, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has begun an inquiry.

The Palace Bridge is one of the symbols of St. Petersburg.
