A Ukrainian journalist, Irina Kozyupan, has revealed why the head coach of the Armenian national team, Joaquín Caparrós, did not respond to her question regarding support for Ukraine after the Nations League match (0:3). As reported by Chemiponat, she said:

“At the press conference following the match, I couldn’t help but ask Joaquín Caparrós what he would like to say to the Ukrainian national team and Ukrainians, considering that the Armenian team did not express its support for Ukraine during this game. In response, Caparrós stated that this is a football match, not a political situation. The question was not even passed on to him.”

The Spanish coach only said, “Sorry,” as cited by Kozyupan and reported by “24 kanal Sport” referencing the journalist’s social media.
