Ukraine Begins Preparations for Eurovision 2023
Ukraine has started preparations to host the Eurovision Song Contest. This was announced today by Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Tymoshenko stated that the contest will take place in Ukraine despite the ongoing military operations. He emphasized that ensuring the safety of the event is a top priority for Ukrainian authorities. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are involved in the preparations, he noted. The venue for the contest has not yet been announced.
“We are considering various locations to ensure comfortable logistical support and basic security. For now, we cannot disclose which ones they are,” Tymoshenko was quoted by TASS.
“We are showing the world our openness, hospitality, and ability to implement large-scale projects,” Tymoshenko concluded. It is worth noting that after the cancellation of Russia's participation in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, Ukraine became a favorite.
