Residents of Zaporizhia to Have Their Debts Canceled Soon, Utilities to Be Forgiven

The residents of Zaporizhia Oblast in Ukraine (which is currently under the control of Russian forces) will soon have their debts to Ukrainian banks eradicated. This was announced to RIA Novosti by Vladimir Rogov, a member of the regional military-civil administration.

According to him, utility debts that citizens had as of March 1 will also be forgiven in the same manner. "There is no logic in requiring people to pay interest on loans to banks since all that money is being used to kill those same civilians. Why pay for your own murder?" Rogov explained.

He also promised that the regional leadership would address the issue of residents' blocked deposits in Ukrainian banks.
