Charges to be Filed Against Former Moldovan President Dodon's Wife in Corruption Case
The wife of former Moldovan President Igor Dodon, Galina Dodon, is set to face charges related to corruption in connection with her husband's case. This was announced on Monday by the press service of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office via their Facebook page, as reported by ТАСС.
“The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office confirms the summons issued for June 16, 2022, for Galina Dodon, as well as other individuals involved in criminal activities, to be interrogated as defendants in the 'Culeki' case,” the report states.
Moldovan law enforcement refers to an incident involving Vladimir Plahotniuc, the former leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, who is alleged to have attempted to bribe Dodon, with a hidden recording published in the media. The prosecution clarified that they have evidence of several individuals' involvement in corrupt activities.
