Yellowish-Brown Waters Flow Through the Center of Kapan: What is the Cause?

A production accident has occurred at the Kavarti mine, causing yellowish-brown industrial waters to flow through the center of Kapan. The Armenian Environmental Front has released photos from the Syunik region along with a note that reads: "In Kapan, on June 10, 2022, the mass flowing from the Kavarti mine into the city and the Voghji River. Aerial shots to clearly show what this is about. They say 'manageable risks, responsible mining, high standards.' An ecological disaster for decades to come."
