Zelensky Signs Decree for Sanctions Against Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree imposing sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin. This information was reported by the website of the President of Ukraine.

The restrictions also apply to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

The sanctions are extended to First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Additionally, the sanctions target the Director of the Federal Security Service of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, and Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

According to the decree from the President of Ukraine, sanctions are also imposed on 236 Russian universities.

Zelensky's office clarified that the sanctions are indefinite and involve asset freezes, restrictions on trade operations related to exports and imports, as well as prevention of capital withdrawal beyond Ukraine's borders. The document comes into effect on the date of publication.
