“We Are Protecting Georgia from the Risk of New Conflict”: Georgian Defense Minister
The Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze, speaking in parliament, explained that Tbilisi has refused to supply weapons to Ukraine to avoid a new conflict.
“We are not transferring arms to Ukraine because we believe that this way we are protecting the interests of Georgian citizens and safeguarding Georgia from the risk of new conflict,” Burchuladze stated during a parliamentary report.
Earlier, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili accused the authorities of insufficient support for Ukraine. She noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was not invited to speak in the Georgian parliament, making Georgia one of the few European countries that did not grant him such an opportunity.
“But wasn’t it merely a matter of universal moral solidarity?” Zurabishvili remarked.
