This is a Case of Classic Philistinism: MP Responds to Minister

The Ministry of Health of Armenia has approached the National Assembly to examine the behavior of opposition MPs from yesterday. "Does the mandate of an NA MP allow such a behavior, and is it in line with the responsibilities of a parliamentary mandate?" is mentioned on the Ministry's Facebook page.

Recall that MPs Kristine Vardanyan, Asparam Krpeyan, and Anna Mkrtchyan from the 'Armenia' faction entered the ministry building, disregarding police demands, and entered the meeting room where the minister was holding a discussion. Kristine Vardanyan threw images of fallen soldiers in the direction of Minister Anahit Avanesyan, admonishing her for statements defending the police: "Ms. Avanesyan, how can you speak after all this? You are even defending the police. A person with honor would not be able to blink in your place. The pictures of these boys should haunt your dreams every night. I don't know how you live with this, shame on you."

Avanesyan later responded to the incident, stating that the parliamentary mandate is not an indulgence for hooligan behavior and that such actions should be severely punished.

In an interview with ArmDaily.am, MP Kristine Vardanyan commented on the minister's remarks, saying that the incident was filmed and not edited, and the public can judge what happened. "I have only one consideration: these people either do not realize or they realize and manipulate the horror of what they have done. Their response to this incident was not only very mild but also inappropriate, not even close. They have committed the heaviest sins in the world, they are responsible for them, they are guilty and have not repented. They have given every honorable citizen of the Republic of Armenia a legitimate reason to carry out the sharpest actions against them," said Vardanyan.

According to the MP, representatives of the government perfectly evade responsibility; therefore, it is the public's duty to disrupt their comfort zone in every way possible. Regarding discussions that the MPs could have made an appointment for the meeting beforehand, and that they aimed to organize a show, Vardanyan stated that an appointment would indeed be made to meet with government representatives representing Armenia's interests.

"I will not engage in any agreements with a junta that does not defend Armenian interests but only protects narrow group interests, and I will not attend constructive discussions," said the member of the 'Resistance Movement'.

Referring to the criticism surrounding the photos thrown at the minister, the MP stated that she pays her respects and condolences to all heroes and martyrs, but there can be no question of dishonor in this matter.

"This is a case of classic philistinism. The unbelievable has happened. People have held the remains of martyrs under conditions for which they did not take responsibility, and then continued to hold office while maintaining the same line. If, God forbid, we go to war again, they will do the same thing again," Vardanyan stated. She emphasized that even if these discussions work against her, she will continue to remind the public about it, as she considers it her duty.
