Putin Holds Phone Conversation with Iranian President

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has had a phone conversation with the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi. Both sides praised the level of Russian-Iranian relations and agreed to strengthen cooperation in the trade and economic sector.

They emphasized the need to resolve the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear program through diplomatic means, as well as the necessity of establishing stability in the region.

Putin expressed condolences regarding the railway accident that occurred this morning in Iran. A passenger train derailed in South Khorasan Province, resulting in the death of over 20 people and injuring more than 80 others.
