Erdogan delivered a speech addressing several issues, including the Kurdish factor in northern Syria and the existing tensions with Greece. Regarding Syria, he stated that Turkey will never allow the formation of "terrorist corridors" close to its borders. Erdogan declared that Turkey will undoubtedly complete the parts of the so-called security zone in northern Syria that have been left unfinished due to military operations.
Addressing relations with Greece, he alleged that a strategy is being applied against Turkey in the Aegean Sea, the Eastern Mediterranean, and Cyprus, which poses threats to the rights and interests established by international treaties.
In this context, Erdogan emphasized: “On this occasion, I once again call on Greece to refrain from the militarization of non-military status islands and to act in accordance with international treaties. I am not joking; I am serious. Especially this nation is decisive and when it says something, it follows through on it.”
He warned Greece, stating: “We warn Greece to get its act together and stay away from dreams and actions that will end in disappointment, as has happened a century ago. Just as Turkey will not relinquish its rights in the Aegean Sea, it will not hesitate to exercise its rights granted to it by international treaties regarding the militarization of islands.”
