Lavrov and Cavusoglu Negotiations Begin: Topic of Discussion Revealed

Today in Ankara, negotiations have commenced between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, according to TRT Haber state television. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously announced that the parties would discuss the prospects for resuming peace talks with Ukraine.

“Minister Lavrov has arrived for negotiations with Cavusoglu, and the discussions have begun,” the television channel reports.

According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, a joint press conference by the ministers is expected at 11:50 AM (coinciding with Moscow time) following the negotiations.
