Inmate Opens Fire in Court, Injuring Staff in Russia
Inmate Ivan Kostiukov opened fire today at the staff of the Rostov Proletarian Court, who were escorting inmates. He seized a staff member's firearm and began shooting.
It is reported that two staff members have been hospitalized, with one in critical condition. In an attempt to neutralize the suspect, law enforcement also returned fire.
Ivan Kostiukov was injured during the incident.
It is worth noting that Kostiukov was scheduled to stand trial alongside an accomplice. In 2018, this duo attacked collectors who were carrying approximately 20 million rubles. They threw a grenade and opened fire, but the robbery failed, and they managed to flee.
One year later, Kostiukov attempted again to seize 12 million rubles from collectors, but again without success. He was later apprehended, and the case was sent to court.
