EU Parliament Votes in Favor of Granting Candidate Status to Ukraine for EU Membership

The European Parliament has voted in favor of granting candidate status to Ukraine for membership in the European Union. The decision was adopted by a significant majority of votes.

A total of 438 votes were cast in favor, while 65 voted against and 94 members abstained.

The final decision on this matter will be made by the European Council. The voting is scheduled for June 23-24.
