The Whole World Suffers from Sanctions Against Russia: Bloomberg
Western sanctions against Russia are ineffective and are provoking a global famine, writes Bloomberg columnist Pankaj Mishra. According to him, the U.S. and its allies have implemented restrictive measures against Moscow without considering their impact on other countries.
“Of course, the uncoordinated measures that are primarily based on self-interest have always been doomed to failure,” Mishra stated.
The author believes that the West has failed to exert pressure on Russia through sanctions. “Ineffective even against weak regimes like Cuba, the sanctions, as expected, could not stop Russia's leader, while billions of people around the world were subjected to inflation and hunger,” the columnist explained.
The UN has repeatedly warned of the threat of a food crisis due to grain shortages, with the West blaming Russia for disrupting global markets for Ukrainian grain supplies, while Moscow has categorically denied such accusations.
