The Price of Fertilizer Has Increased: 'Zhoghovurd'

The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that complaints about the price of subsidized fertilizer are on the rise. This time, residents of the Karmirgyugh community have reached out to the newspaper, explaining that they initially paid 12,000 dram for a bag of fertilizer, but were later asked to pay an additional 2,000 dram.

This means that instead of paying 12,000 dram for one bag of fertilizer, they ended up paying 14,000 dram.

Regarding this issue, the newspaper spoke with Arayik Hovhannisyan, the head of the Karmirgyugh community in Gegharkunik province. He stated, 'The villagers paid 12,000 dram for a bag of Russian fertilizer, but then it was canceled, and the fertilizer did not come from Russia to Armenia.' According to the village head, the reason the Russian fertilizer did not cross into Armenia was due to the closure of the Upper Lars road. 'Since the funds had been collected, the government decided to replace the fertilizer with Iranian-produced carbonit. The active substance in fertilizer is 34 percent, while in carbonit it's 46 percent, and naturally, the cost has increased. We redistributed again, and people had to add 2,000 dram for each bag... We received the carbonit, distributed it to the people, and there is no one who hasn't received it,' the village head informed.
