First Grain Trains Departing from Melitopol to Crimea

The head of the military-civil administration of the Zaporizhzhia region, Evgeny Balitsky, has announced that trains have begun moving from Melitopol to Crimea, with the first 11 wagons having departed from the Melitopol elevator (a grain storage facility) on June 7, as reported by TASS.

“Today, industrial enterprises are starting to operate. Some enterprises are already fully operational. There are, of course, difficulties, but we are resolving them as much as we can. I am pleased to announce today that the first wagons have departed from Melitopol to Crimea—11 wagons from the Melitopol elevator,” he stated.

Earlier, the New York Times reported that U.S. authorities had sent warning messages to 14 countries, claiming that Russia is attempting to sell grain stolen from Ukraine. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has stated that Russia is ready to supply grain to all needy countries, but Western sanctions are hindering this.
