Charles Michel Accuses Kremlin of Triggering Global Food Crisis; Russian Representative Leaves Hall
The permanent representative of Russia to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, left the Security Council meeting room following accusations made by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, against Moscow, as reported by RIA Novosti.
It is reported that Michel accused the Kremlin of being responsible for the global food crisis. In addition, he accused Russia of blocking Ukrainian ports and stealing grain.
Nebenzya did not listen to his speech and departed.
Meanwhile, Dmitry Polyansky, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, drew attention to the overwhelming degree of unfounded accusations made by 'Western partners'.
“Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, also, contrary to the facts, accused us of provoking a food crisis. He spoke so boldly and rudely that the Russian permanent representative left the hall. It is astonishing how much the European Union and its leaders have degraded,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
