Levon Kocharyan's Friend Sergey Asaturov's Arrest Declared Unlawful: Defense

The court has accepted the appeal of the defense lawyers of Sergey Asaturov, a friend of Levon Kocharyan's son, and declared his arrest unlawful. This was reported by one of the defense attorneys, Aleksandr Kochubaev, on his Facebook page.

“Sergey Asaturov is free. The court (presiding judge G. Poghossyan) upheld the appeal filed by attorney Erik Aleksanyan and myself, recognizing Sergey Asaturov's arrest as unlawful, after which it rejected the investigator's request for detention,” he wrote.

It is worth noting that Levon Kocharyan had previously spoken about Sergey Asaturov's arrest. “After today's organized police provocation and assault, my friend Sergey Asaturov was taken away in a brazen and shameless manner from the vicinity of France Square, sustaining cranial injuries. Subsequently, based on the evidently unfounded false testimony of a certain policeman, a decision was made to arrest him. Sergey, who lost his father in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, is selflessly and altruistically fighting for Armenia and Artsakh. If they think that such vile actions can break us, they are gravely mistaken. Unity, struggle, victory,” he wrote.
