Zakharova Reminds Germany About the Blocking of Russian Media in Europe

Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, commented on the embassy's statement regarding the work of Russian journalists in Germany "without restrictions," reminding about the blocking of Russian media in Europe and added that she awaits comments from the German side on freedom of speech.

Zakharova quoted a statement from the German embassy in Moscow, which had declared the day before that the accusation of discrimination against Russian journalists in Germany is untrue. According to the diplomatic representation, "in fact, everything is quite the opposite," and at this time a large number of Russian journalists are working in Germany, "and without any restrictions."

"Just yesterday, a German sent me a photo of his television where it says the following: 'This channel is temporarily unavailable. We are working to restore the service as soon as possible. The problem is not with your equipment.' The problem is the blocking of Russian media in Europe. This person wanted to watch the 'Rossiya' TV channel. I am really looking forward to the comments from the German embassy in Moscow," she wrote.
