Expiration of Special Equipment Usability in Police Forces Armament: Arsen Babayan

According to the information I have received, special measures have been applied by the police from the 1032nd unit of the RA Police Forces (Davtashen military unit) and the special measures unit of the 1033rd unit (Argavand). This is reported by Arsen Babayan, a representative of the "Honorary Legion" alliance.

"The usability period of the special measures applied in the armament of the police forces has expired, and no 'Sviril' type sound and light grenades have been acquired since 2017. Their usability period is only 4 years. This special measure can only be used based on the available quantity in the balance of such combat equipment and exclusively by the written order or instruction of the Chief of Police of the RA, I repeat, exclusively in writing. According to expert testimonies, the severity of injuries sustained by citizens and police officers is due to the expired ammunition. The expired condition can only be verified by inspecting the shell casing of the fired grenade, which only the police have the opportunity to do at this moment. It is not a coincidence that in one of the videos, it is clearly visible that a police officer carefully picks up the shell casing in order to prevent the inspection of this condition in the future. The police are obliged to respond to this issue with a detailed investigation, providing the public with the opportunity to verify the findings," Babayan wrote on Telegram.
