Fatal Hit-and-Run Near Brusov University: Driver Not Sober
Today, June 2, a fatal hit-and-run occurred in Yerevan. Around 03:30, 31-year-old Samvel Khachatryan, a resident of Yerevan, struck a pedestrian with his Russian-registered VAZ 2121 vehicle on Moskovyan Street in front of the Valery Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences, resulting in the death of 62-year-old Gohar Melikyan, also a resident of Yerevan.
According to shamshyan.com, the injured pedestrian died at the scene. The driver did not flee the scene and attempted to assist the victim, calling for an ambulance. The on-duty medical team that arrived promptly confirmed the pedestrian's death.
The driver underwent a sobriety test, which indicated he was not sober.
