Turkey Announces Military Operations in Syria

Turkey is commencing new military operations in Syria. This announcement was made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“We are entering a new phase in our decision to create a security zone 30 kilometers deep along our southern borders. We are clearing Tal Rifaat and Manbij of terrorists. Then we will do the same step by step in other regions. Let’s see who will support this legitimate measure for Turkish security and who will try to intervene,” said the Turkish president during a speech in parliament.
